A Certain Scientific Railgun - second season -

The second season of anime of "A Certain Scientific Railgun" has started since this spring!

"A Certain Scientific Railgun" is popular anime based on the Japanese light novel series "A Certain Magical Index."

In Japan, the anime of "A Certain Magical Index" and "A Certain Scientific Railgun" were broadcasted several years ago.

And, they have been loved by many anime fans soon.

Honestly speaking, I was also absorbed in them at that time.

For that reason, it should be welcomed that the second season of "A Certain Scientific Railgun" has started.

In fact, I have already watched the first, second and third chapters thereof.

In the beginning, no, strictly speaking, until I watched the third chapter, I thought the second season would be the following story of the first season broadcasted previous year, but this idea was fault.

The second season seems to be not the mere following story but previous or inserted story of the first season.

Namely, it would be about the story regarding "the incident of sisters."

If you are interested in the details, I would like you to try to watch this series from the first season!

Bakemonigatari 3

One of my favorite female character in "Bakemonogatari" is Hitagi Senjogahara.

Her charm must be her very very severe lines to a hero in the story, Koyomi Araragi. We call person like her "Dokuzetsu (which means "poison tongue" in English) " in Japanese.

However, she is actually so kind and love him. Her attitude to him is the way to hide her real feelings in her mind against him.

Koyomi also understand that, so he can accept her severe attitude and enjoy conversations with her.

Such a little bit strange relationship between him and her would be the interesting point of "Bakemonogatari", I guess.

Moreover, she sometimes shows a part of her real feelings to him. This is so cute.
It's so-called "Tsundere" in Japanese otaku language which means the person who usually shows severe attitude to others but sometimes reveals kindness, or something like that.

To tell the truth, I can't completely deny that I am one of those who are attracted by "Tsundere", so I also like her.

Bakemonogatari 2

As I told before, one of my favorite light novels and anime is "Monogatri" series.

"Monogatari" means "story" in Japanese. The reason why the series are called "Monogatari series" is that each title of the novels include the word "Monogatari," for example, "Bakemonogatari (volumes 1 and 2) ", "Kizumonogatari (volume 3) , "Nisemonogatari (volume 3 and 4) " and so on.

This novel series has not been finished yet and the new volumes have been published several times a year. Of course, they will be published also this year. I am highly looking forward to them!

I'm sure the "Monogatari" series attracts us by so funny lines of character in the story. Most of their lines are not essential for the story to proceed, but they are essential to make the story itself attractive, I guess.

Furthermore, the anime version thereof was also created because of its popularity in Japan. I was also absorbed in it of course.

So far, the anime version was broadcasted from the novel version volume 1 to volume 4 (other than volume 2 "Kizumonogatari"). However, it was announced the following stories are going to be broadcasted in near future fortunately. I expect subbed version will also be created.

Music of Sword Art Online 2

I told you that my most favorite song in the anime of SAO is "Tender Feeling."

This song is slow tempo song and beautiful and tender as its name. In fact, the song was used for the several scenes which make us touched and happy, for example the scene where Kirito and Asuna started to live together at their new house in the floating castle, Aincrad.

In addition, I want to empathize that the song was also heard behind the scene Asuna made a wonderful and memorable speech in front of Kirito and Nishida before Kirito and she was going to come back to desperate battlefield, leaving their dreaming life behind their backs, which is the scene I like the most. I have already explained how wonderful her speech was in the previous article in this blog, haven't I?

Anyway, I love this song too profoundly to help listening to it when I want to be relaxed at home.

Music of Sword Art Online

The attraction of anime of Sword Art Online is not only the story but also music.

Actually, the music is receiving a big applause as the anime itself. Of course, I also think the music is so good.

Anime of SAO has a lot of cool and beautiful music. Especially, the music used in the scenes of battles are so cool and makes us moved.

The music of SAO was composed by a Japanese composer, Yuki Kajiura.

She has composed music for so many Japanese anime, movies and TV games. The ending theme of "Mahou Shojo (Magical girl) Madoka Magika" is also her work.

The characteristic of her works is they include choruses. The main theme of SAO, "Swordland" also do so. Her works become more attractive thanks to the characteristic.

I like a tender and beautiful song in SAO titled "Tender Feeling" as well as a cool song "Swordland."

You can listen to these music on Youtube or other website, also in anime of SAO, of course.

Please tell me your favorite music in SAO if you have!

Do You Watch Japanese Subbed Anime?

You know, Japanese anime and manga (comics) are so popular around the world now, for example, "Dragon Ball", "One Piece", "Sailor Moon" and so on.

I can find a lot of Japanese anime with lines translated into many languages by searching on the internet. Of course, I don't need to watch them because I am Japanese and be able to understand original versions without translations.

But, the popularity of Japanese anime shows that so many foreign people watch them (so-called "subbed anime") and that they want to watch them even if they have to dare to pursue translation of characters' line in story to understand the contents. It's amazing! I am proud of Japanese anime and comics as one of Japanese important culture.

Nevertheless, I hope that not subbed anime but more "dubbed anime" will be created. That's because dubbed anime would help you to understand them easier and can express more various feelings of characters in them. You also think so, don't you?

When Will The Second Season of Anime Version of Sword Art Online (SAO) Start?

I think many fans of SAO series enjoyed the anime version of SAO which was broadcasted last year in Japan.

The anime was about the stories which were told from volume 1 to volume 4 of the novel version, namely, the stories in two virtual worlds, SAO and ALO.

As you may know, the novel series are continued even now. So, All fans would be looking forward to the second season of anime version about the stories in later volumes.

However, no one knows whether the second season is going to be broadcasted in the future. Please tell me that!

Anyway, I expect that the second season would have a plan to be created because it will be popular like the first season thereof.

Further, I also suppose that the English dubbed anime of SAO would be created in near future. If so, you should watch it!

Sword Art Online 13

Black sword man, Kirito, was too strong in ALO as well as in SAO.

Kirito's latest level in SAO was over 90 (very high) . For some reason, his personal date was taken over from SAO to ALO when he dived into ALO for the first time.

So, the values of his status were still high from the beginning.

Some fans of SAO series often call this "privilege of hero" because Kirito is always powered by god or something like that when he is in difficult situation. In fact, I sometimes think so somewhat as well.

Furthermore, he always attracts others around him, especially girls, wherever he is.

This would be also one of "privilege of hero."

In ALO, Elf sword woman, Ryfa fell in love with him.

I feel a little bit jealousy to him...

Which do you prefer novel version or anime version of Sword Art Online?

Which do you prefer novel version or anime version of Sword Art Online?

I exactly prefer novel version to the other. Why?

That's because novel version is the original of this works, and it would be normal that a original is directly influenced by author.

I think SAO is not also exception.

The original of SAO, novel version, would be better than anime version, I guess.

Of course, I also like the anime version because I can hear the characters' voices and see their vivid expression directly, moreover, also see thrilling and beautiful battle scenes.

However, unfortunately, there is limited term to broadcast, so a lot of important or wonderful scenes were obliged to be cut or simplified.

That's why I would like recommend you to try to read the original novel version.

Bakemonogatari

As you know, the title, "Bakemonogatari" is not English, of course.

It's a title in Japanese of a Japanese light novel. Do you know this?

If you had been interested in the culture of Japanese light novels, you may know. That's because it is as popular as other light novels I introduced in the previous articles here.

The author of "Bakemonogatari" is Nishioishin who is a japanese novel writer. Nishioishin isn't his real name but his pen name. Actually, this name will be the same if you read it from back side. It's so surprising isn't it?

"Bakemonogatari" is the first volume of "Monogatari (which means "story" in English) series."

This series is also my favorite, so I am thinking that I will introduce it or write my impression for it later than this article.

Anime Version of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Surprised Me

Speaking of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya," I can't forget to mention the anime version thereof.

The Anime version is surely popular among not only Japanese "otaku" but also foreign people who could be categorized as that.

The Amine was created by a Japanese animation company, "Kyoto Animation."

Is it common sense for you who are now reading this blog?

As you know, the company is famous as one who create high quality animations among a part of Japanese.

Regarding "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya," what I was surprised the most at was "Endless Eight."

What was that?

It was one of chapters in it. The chapter was the story where main characters experienced summer vacation which couldn't finish, in other words, the term of the vacation repeated endlessly.

Surprisingly, "Kyoto Animation" really repeated to broadcast the chapter eight times like the chapter's name in spite of limitation of broadcasting term.

Most of fans were exactly surprised at their ridiculous challenge.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Made Me Interested in Light Novles

Do you know "light novels"?

It's a category of novels. It could be that this category exists only in Japan.

"Light" in this term usually means the novels which are easy to read, are not classified as pure literature, or something like that. But, the meaning thereof is not necessarily clear. "Light novels" would be one of Japanese characteristic cultures.

"Light Novels" are often regarded as so maniac or not novels by people who love pure novels. I am not a person who do so, but can not completely deny that I had underestimated books categorized as "light novels."

However, for some reason, I was interested in "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" which was a very popular light novel among Japanese young generation at that time when I was a university student. Thinking back now, that was because I liked to play TV games, read comics and watch TV animations originally.

To be honest, I didn't have much expectation to the light novel in the first place. But, my true impression of it was "So interesting!"

In fact, I  didn't like reading novels very much until I met the light novel. However, it made me interested in not only light novels but also other novels not categorized as them.

Sword Art Online 12

One of attractive points of volumes 3 and 4 regarding ALfheim Online would be the presence of Lyfa, I guess.

She is a strong swords woman classified as species of Elf.

I am sure that many readers of SAO series like her because of her attractive personality.

She would be cute rather than beautiful. And, she is also energetic.

In the beginning of the story of ALfheim Online (ALO) , her real name in her real life was not revealed for Kirito, let alone us.

The relationship between Kirito and Lyfa is one of important elements constructing the story in ALO.

The secret itself of Lyfa might not be surprising to you, but changes of feelings of Kirito and Lyfa influenced by the secret would make you touched.

Kirito came up with an idea as soon as he dived into ALfheim Online for the first time.

He thought that it was possible he could see Yui, who was a small pretty girl, again in another virtual world, ALfheim Online.

Who is Yui?

She is not a human but an "AI," which stands for Artificial Intelligence, so she can exist in only virtual worlds like Sword Art Online and ALfheim Online.

Kirito and Asuna firstly met her in SAO.

She called them "Papa" and "Mama" as if she were their real daughter, so they also loved her as so.

However, Kirito and Asuna could not have been seeing her in the mean time due to secret reason.

So, Kirito felt both expectation and anxiety, thinking of the idea at that time.

Fortunately, his expectation was filled.

He started his, no, their long and short journey with Yui who was given a role as "Navigation Pixy" in order to look for and rescue Asuna they deeply loved.

Sword Art Online 10

As I explained, volume 1 of SAO novel series is about a fundamental story for both of Kirito and Asuna. On the other hand, volumes 3 and 4 are about the stories where Kirito ran around to help captured Asuna.

Volumes 3 and 4 are following stories of volume 1 because volume 2 is side stories of volume 1.

Unfortunately, I can't mention about core point of the stories to avoid revealing it to those who have never read like usual. So, I can vaguely write about it.

For some reason (I should keep the reason secret) , Asuna was captured in another virtual world by someone, and Kirito was heard that from Agil who used to be a merchant in the SAO world.

Kirito decided to dive into this another world to help her no matter what.

Volumes 3 and 4 are made interesting by the presence of a new main character named Ryfa who was the person Kirito met at first in the world.

In the world named "ALfheim Online," there were several kinds of species players could selected when they dived into the world for the first time.

Kirito selected "Sprigan" who had black hair, eyes and clothing on his body because black was his most favorite color, of course.

Sword Art Online 9

I'm now reading Volume10 of SAO novel series. However, I sometimes feel like wanting to read Volume 1 over and over again. Do I say "I like Volume 1!" too frequently?

I think that the more I read later Volumes, the more I like Volume 1. That's because Volume 1 is the story which deceives a fundamental point for Kirito and Asuna. They are bonded tightly with each other and can overcome obstacles no mattar what happens due to their several experiences in the original SAO world, I guess.

Anyway, Asuna in Volume 1 was very very cute! I am sure that those who have ever read SAO novel series (or watch TV anime series) once at least can understand me.

In particular, I was attracted by her when she realized she fell in love with Kirito on her own and she try to approach to him enthusiastically in the middle of Volume 1.

One of scenes I like the most is the scene where Kirito and Asuna had a short time break during exploration of the dungeon on the 74th floor in Aincrad.

At that time, Asuna gave a sandwich she made by herself to Kirito. He showed happy-like expression on his face after receiving it from her, and then he said, "It's so terrific that you should sell it in the market of city. No, wait... I will be in trouble because I wouldn't be able to have it if you do so."

After Asuna heard that, she gave a little bit wry smile, and said, "I would make it for you again if I feel I want to do so."

The expression and attitude she gave at that time were very cute and attractive! If you were a ordinary man, you must fall in love with her.

There are really a lot of good scenes in Volume 1.

Sword Art Online 8

Although today's topic excessively proceeds from previous one, I want to write about the recentest chapter of SAO series.

This is "Alicization Series."

The first chapter of the series is titled "Alicization Beginning" which is in volume 9 of SAO novel series.

To tell the truth, I was not highly looking forward to the "Alicization Series" originally. That was because I thought that the chapter regarding the first virtual world "Sword Art Online" in volume 1 was the greatest, and that the author Reki Kawahara didn't have a plan to continue SAO novel series for such a long period in the first place and he has been managing to continue until now.

However, I realized that I had not had enough power to evaluate novels in advance when I finished reading volume 9.

This new series was unpredictable and built on story settings arranged greatly. So I'm sure that readers will be attracted deeply.

There are several new key characters in the series. One of them is Eugeo, who is a boy having brown hair and green eyes.

Kirito is cool guy as I said before, but I can't say Eugeo is not superior to him. Eugeo is also kind to other people around him and brave at the important time.

Alicization Series is about the stories in new world named "Underworld."

You may not understand where the world is or what it is when you start to read. That's because it is not explained in the beginning. So, you will keep to think, "Where are they?", "What's going on there?" or something like that.

But, it will be gradually revealed step by step.

The more you read, the more you become excited!

If there are people who used to read SAO novel series but don't do now, I strongly want to recommend them to try the new series.

Sword Art Online 7

Today I would like to talk about volume 2 of SAO.

Volume 2 consists of side stories in the virtual world SAO regarding some prime characters. Speaking of which, main story in SAO finished until volume 1 although I have not tell you yet. So, From volume 2, side stories or new stories in the other virtual world are told in them.

I also like volume 2 because the stories included in it are all about SAO world. As you already know, I really like not stories in the other virtual world but those in SAO.

The episode in volume 2 I especially like is titled "The Temperature of The Hearts," which is the story with regard to "Lizbeth," one of main characters in SAO.

Only her name appeared in volume 1, but in volume 2, her first meeting with Kirito was told finally. I'm sure that those who were curious about who she was were so pleased to know her story was include in volume 2.

In this story, Kirito thought he want to buy a stronger sword than one he used until that time, so he went to a weapon store in a city. This store was Lizbeth's.

She was one of the most prominent blacksmiths in SAO and therefore, was proud of her abilities to create great weapon.

However, Kirito broke her greatest masterpiece due to his carelessness. Her pride was broken by that, and of course, she got angry. And then, she declared that she will definitely create the most superior sword for him to prove she was a good blacksmith. Finally, they went to snowed mountain where a huge dragon lived to obtain a rare and essential material to be used to create a great sword...

In the end of the story, you will come across the scene which can surely move your emotion. I even hope to read it again in state of losing my memories about it if possible.

One of the reasons why I am so attracted by Sword Art Online (SAO) would be often move my emotion.

There are many scenes I am touched by in SAO series. Even tears have dropped out from my eyes many times when I was reading the novels. I guess those who have ever read the novel series would be able to understand my feelings.

Although I can't tell you the stories in detail to avoid revealing important parts of the stories to you, I would like to introduce one of the scene I like the most to you.

This is , In volume 1 of SAO, the scene where Kirito, Asuna and Nishida (who is not a main character and is a great fisher) talked together in front of a transfer point (from which players can be transferred to another place).

In the scene, Asuna confessed her honest feeling for Kirito to Nishida.

She started to explain her first meeting with Kirito, and she finally said, "I have not suffered from scary dream while sleeping since I met him. I have been looking forward to tomorrow. I was so happy to realize I fell in love. He is the meaning of 2-year I spent here and also a proof for me to having lived."

This speech made me moved enough, but the next words from her touched me more deeply.

"I'm sure that I put the Nerve Gear on my head at that time to see him in this world."

When I heard (read) this her lines, I couldn't help suppress my tears splashing out.

It might be that those who have not read volume 1 of SAO yet couldn't not understand why the speech touched me so deeply. No, I would like you to be moved rather when you actually read the novel than now. I can assure you that you will be able to understand the true meanings of her speech and be touched by it. You can even like her at that time as me.

Sword Art Online 5

Players didn't know that Sword Art Online was a "Death Game" when they dived into the virtual world for the first time.

However, they were so surprised and shocked by hearing that it was a death game and they couldn't log out unless they clear the game from a creator of Sword Art Online, Akihiko Kayaba who is also a game master thereof as introduction of the game.

Some shocked players committed suicide before long.

Of course, Kirito was also shocked and depressed for some time. But he decided to survive until he or other players clear the game because he has much experiences as a beta-taster of the game. He knew where he should beat monsters to obtain much value of experiences, where he could get rare or important items or weapons and other essential informations.

For this reason, there are some players who were jealous of him, and call him "Beater".
"Beater" is coined word made with the words "beta-tester" and "cheater".

However, he must not be a cheater, I guess. He is so kind for other players in fact. So, those who met him were soon attracted by him, and became friends with him. I understand why they liked him for some reason.

The stories I mentioned until now was written in the volume 1 of Sword Art Online novel series. I like volume 1 the most because this is the serious story in Sword Art Online where players can really die. Although this series also have the stories in other virtual world, for example "ALfheim Online" , "Gan Gale Online" etc., these stories have less severance because players just return to start point or somewhere if they die in these virtual worlds.

I can feel Kirito or other main characters' feelings as if I were each of them and be deeply moved by the stories because the severe conditions make the stories more vivid and emotional.

I can assure you that volume 1 of Sword Art Online will make you moved. Try it!

Sword Art Online 4

Today, I would like to introduce a part of stories of "Sword Art Online" to you.

"Sword Art Online" is the name of VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game) which Kirito and other characters in the stories play.

What is VRMMORPG? Players can dive into virtual world by wearing a special device named "Nerve Gear" on their head, and they can fight against monsters, explore various dungeon, talk with other players or even just live there. The difference between VRMMORPG and just MMORPG is only whether players actually dive into virtual world or not. (Of course, VRMMORPG doesn't exist in real world in fact.)

However, "Sword Art Online" is not just VRMMORPG.

What is the difference?

In the world of "Sword Art Online", players will actually die in real world when they die in the virtual world. You can't believe that, can you? But it's surely truth.

In the beginning of the stories, Kirito, who was absorbed in various kinds of game, started to play Sword Art Online.

He used to be a player of the beta version of "Sword Art Online" who was called "beta tester", so he was already familiar with the game.

However, the beta version was normal VRMMORPG. In other words, it was not a death game like official version thereof.

Sword Art Online 3

As I said in the previous article, Kirito is so attractive due to his kindness and strength of heart.

However, Asuna, who is a heroine in Sword Art Online, is as attractive as him. That's because she is so beautiful, cute, kind and intelligent, and has strong will power.

In the stories, she is sensitive and severe for other people in the virtual world, Sword Art Online, but she was gradually changing her mind since she met Kirito.

After meeting Kirito, she showed her intrinsic kind personality to people around her as well as Kirito. She fell in love with Kirito, so she attacked him to make good or romantic relationship with him. I was attracted by her who managed to do so.

Of course, there are lots of attractive characters in Sword Art Online.
However, I don't have enough time to introduce all of them to you this time.
That's why I would like to do so in due course.

Speaking of which, I now noticed that I have not tell you what the story of Sword Art Online is.
I will introduce it to you step by step from next article.

Sword Art Online 2

I knew the novel "Sword Art Online" when I was looking for appropriate English books for studying English. I was thinking that it would be sufficient to read books which I was able to enjoy reading and read easily. That's why I was sure that the light novels translated into English whose originals were in Japanese were suitable for me.

This thought was no doubt correct. That's because I have been absorbed in Sword Art Online series since beginning to read them. They make me enjoy reading English books.

The reason why I am absorbed in these series would be many attractive characters in the stories.

A hero of the stores is named "Kirito" which is avatar name in the virtual world. He is not only cool but also intelligent. Moreover, he is so strong as a swordman in the virtual world, and has strong heart as a human in real world. So, he is very attractive person, I guess.

Sword Art Online 1

"Sword Art Online", which is a very popular Japanese light novel among young people, especially those who like computer games, is now interesting for me.

I do not want to write what it is because there are too many websites which explain that. But I want to write my review or impressions about the novel or animation based on it. That's because I am deeply absorbed in the novel series now.

I read these novel series translated in English to enhance my english abilities. In the first place, I was a little bit worried that I would not enjoy them because the originals of them are published in Japanese. But I knew that I didn't have to be worried.

The English version is as good as Japanese original and the english expressions of various feelings characters in the novel have in the stories are also terrific!

That's why I want to recommend you to try to read these series!
